Information Gathering:
Prior to the session, we provide a detailed questionnaire BEFORE we meet with you to provide relevant information about your dog’s history, routine, training, and any specific concerns or goals you have. This information helps us gain a comprehensive understanding of your dog’s background.
Observation and Assessment:
During the session, we observe the dog’s behavior, body language, and responses to different stimuli. This helps us assess their temperament, social skills, and any behavioral issues or challenges they may be experiencing.
Discussion and Goal Setting:
We engage in a detailed discussion with the owner to understand their expectations, concerns, and desired outcomes based on their filled out questionnaire which is sent by email. This conversation allows us to set specific goals and develop a customized plan that aligns with your expectations and the dog’s needs.
Training and Behavior Modification:
Based on the assessment and goal-setting phase, we employ positive reinforcement training techniques and behavior modification strategies to address any problematic behaviors or areas of improvement.
This may include teaching basic obedience commands, addressing leash pulling, separation anxiety, aggression, or other specific issues listed on our home page pertaining to your individual case.
Towards the end of the session, we discuss a follow-up plan or treatment program which may include additional sessions, online educational resources, and ongoing support to help and your dog continue their training journey.
The duration of the initial consultation and session may vary depending on the complexity of the case and the specific needs of the dog and owner. It can last between 90 minutes to 2.5 hours.
Throughout the session, we provide education and guidance to you the owner on understanding your dog’s needs, body language, and communication signals. We offer and model practical tips and training tools to strengthen the bond between you and your dog/s while promoting effective communication and interactions that lead to change.
We will also demonstrate training techniques and exercises with the dog and show you how to effectively implement them. Hands-on demonstrations can help even the best pet parent to understand the correct methods and build confidence in their training abilities in between follow up sessions.
Our work will begin with a very targeted 1.5 hour up to a 2.5 hour initial session. Beyond the initial consult, assessment and hands on training session. We offer follow up sessions, coaching, and tailored/customized treatment programs.
Our tailored breed specific approach to working at both ends of the leash, yes that means you! Can bring to light and stabilize some of the most challenging and puzzling manifestations of behavior. We’ll teach you the language that dogs speak.
